Wilson & Kester provides mediation services for litigated issues. Shelley A. Kester is certified in the area of mediation and has settled many issues between the parties. Mediation occurs when the parties cannot effectively come up with a settlement on their own. Usually, the court will order that a mediation take place if the issues cannot be resolved by the parties. Normally, the parties will meet with a third-party attorney (The Mediator) and try to come up with a settlement that everyone can live with.

Each party generally pays one-half of the total cost for their mediation. As a mediator, Shelley charges $130.00 per hour. Mediations are unpredictable with respect to the length of time it takes to complete. It can last anywhere from an hour to days. It all depends on the severity of the issues involved and how well the parties can agree to the issues.
